The Shaw Contract Australia Sales organization is looking to hire a Trade & Construction Account Manager to play a pivotal role in strengthening relationships with flooring dealers, contractors, and builders in the Melbourne market. This role is critical to securing discretionary business, protecting specifications, and driving growth in one of our most strategic regions. Our ideal candidate thrives on building trust, navigating complex negotiations, and influencing outcomes in the commercial construction space, making lasting impact. This role is based in Melbourne with a focus on the Melbourne & metropolitan market and occasional regional projects, based out of our Richmond showroom. Responsibilities: Develop and maintain strong relationships with flooring dealers, contractors, and builders to secure and protect specifications. Actively engage with builders to prevent specification switches and ensure project retention. Drive discretionary business through strategic partnerships and trust-building. Manage project pipeline from inception to completion, leveraging Salesforce for accurate forecasting and territory management. Deliver compelling pricing, brand, and product messaging to influence decision-makers. Identify opportunities for strategic supply agreements to grow market share. Collaborate with A&D Account Managers to align on project progress and specifications. Prospect for new accounts while deepening engagement with existing customers. Maintain a strong understanding of technical installation requirements, adhesives, and compliance with Australian standards and BCA requirements. Represent Shaw Contract at industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities to expand market presence. Requirements: Minimum 5 years of professional experience, preferably in sales or the commercial construction or interiors industry. Valid driver’s license and legal right to work in Australia. Ability to travel by car across territory daily. Highly Preferred Experience: Background in flooring, construction, or commercial interiors. Experience working or selling to flooring contractors, builders, or dealer networks. Prior roles in project management, estimating, or sales within the construction industry. Ability to navigate complex procurement processes and influence decision-makers. Familiarity with commercial project lifecycles and installation requirements. Proven ability to build and maintain business relationships in a fast-paced environment. Strong negotiation and communication skills with a results-driven mindset. Proficiency in CRM tools (Salesforce preferred) and territory management.
