COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Previous experience in a metal fabrication environment desired. Hands on experience a bonus.
  • Experience with Supply Chain (Purchasing, Planning), Quality or customer service a plus
  • Experience in develop a rapport with your customers
  • Technical education equaling an associate degree and or past job experience that demonstrates ability to understand fabrication drawings
  • Aspirations to grow
  • Solid computer skills to manage data, manipulate Excel spread sheets and other Office products and ERP software.

Responsibilities

POSITION PURPOSE:

You help our customers realize their dreams. By going the extra mile, whatever is needed to help ensure their success and in so doing Buyken’s success. The Sales Manager is the conduit for sharing Buyken’s collective knowledge with our customers/partners to help develop cost effective supply chain solutions.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Sales Manager is a critical pillar of the organization and a part of our leadership team. Working with other internal Sales personnel, VP of OPS and the President to help develop and implement long-run strategies for success.
Be willing to challenge the status quo and propose new novel approaches/processes. It is critical to learn and sense the pulse of the organization to know what jobs fit our niche now and in the future matching those to existing and future customers.

TASKS:

  • Manages the estimating and job costing
  • Communicates estimating backlog, priorities and Sales performance
  • Responds to requests for quotes and uses ERP software to create quotations
  • Communicates with customers, with Buyken Sales team, Engineering, Purchasing, and Operations to collect necessary information to provide a quotation
  • Creates proposed process flow and shop traveler for routing work in shop
  • Works with Purchasing and OPS to process new orders
  • Ensures necessary drawings and information are obtained to process quote and orders
  • Identifies possible tooling requirements
  • Implements changes to traveler as suggested from approved process improvement forms
  • Considers, evaluates, and compares alternate processes for added capacity, faster production, or less costly production methods
  • Communicates with customer current job status
  • Carries out any specific projects assigned by VP of Sales or President
