JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Client Manager to join our dynamic team. You will manage a portfolio of clients, your own workflow and manage and support the workflow of more junior staff members. Using your technical skills of FRS 105 & 102 you will be producing/reviewing statutory accounts for clients and presenting an operational summary of the results to your clients. With a focus on support and management accounts for our clients, you will have experience of producing management reports for your clients and reviewing client records to health check the book keeping.

  • Identifying client requirements from their instructions.
  • Ensuring that compliance with firm’s policies and procedures are adhered to (Money laundering/engagement letters/practice assurance and audit procedures).
  • Controlling the engagement to ensure that client requirements are achieved.
  • Controlling the engagement to ensure that regulatory or statutory deadlines are achieved.
  • Controlling the engagement to ensure that all necessary resources are monitored for cost effective use.
  • Preparation and review of accounts, tax computations and self assessment tax returns.
  • Attending client meetings
  • Monitoring time costs against agreed fee levels.
  • Issuing fee notes in accordance with firm’s policy.
  • Reporting to the engagement Partner as appropriate.
  • Obtaining Partner approval for any deviation from Billing instructions.
  • Identifying opportunities for additional work.
  • Ensuring that the clients’ affairs are managed to the standard expected of a professional firm. This may involve seeking assistance from other staff members with the firm.
  • Monitoring staff welfare.
  • Ensuring work is planned and scheduled to meet the office performance indicators and criteria. Fee targets/chargeable time/fee recovery.
  • Organisation of staff work schedules.
  • Monitoring and evaluating staff performance.
  • Ensuring that staff members receive appropriate on-the-job training.
  • Ensuring completion of necessary CPD and maintaining a level of competence adequate to cope with the technical demands of your position.

EXPERIENCE

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in client management or a similar role within an accountancy practice or financial services environment.
  • Ideally a professional qualification such as the ACCA/ACA/CTA
  • Proven track record of successfully managing client relationships and delivering exceptional service.
  • Experience in understanding and addressing client needs, providing tailored solutions, and effectively communicating complex financial information.
  • Familiarity with accounting software and tools used in client management.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and provide insights to clients.
  • Knowledge of relevant accounting regulations and compliance standards.
