JOB SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Controller, and joining our accounting team, the Accountant will be experienced in a variety of accounting duties, including financial statements preparation, account reconciliations and account analysis as well as other accounting related duties.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation
  • 4-5 years of operational accounting experience
  • Works independently or in teams
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and excellent customer service
  • Advanced computer skills using accounting software.
  • Experience with Sage 50 and with Dayforce / Ceridian payroll is an asset.
  • Very good working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, with excellent knowledge of Excel

    Pay: $72,000.00-$84,000.00 per year

Responsibilities
  • Prepare monthly financial statements, including various schedules, accruals, and journal entries accurately and on time
  • Perform monthly account reconciliations on a timely basis (e.g., bank & intercompany reconciliations, Fixed Asset & Capital Lease schedules etc)
  • Prepare and file GST and PST returns
  • Process a biweekly payroll for 25 to 30 employees
  • Support and mentor our AR-AP Accounting Assistant
  • Provide detailed analysis as required on specific issues / projects when required
  • Other duties as assigned from time to time
