Responsibilities

  • Record daily financial transactions and process accounts payable/receivable using QuickBooks Online
  • Create, format, and manage reports and documentation in Microsoft Office.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends and variances, providing actionable insights for strategic decision-making
  • Perform regular bank reconciliations; ensure accurate general ledger and inventory entries, and maintain robust financial records.
  • Assist in preparing detailed monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Prepare documentation for audits and tax filings, contributing to continuous process improvements within the department.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders regarding financial matters
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Collaborate with project managers to ensure precise cost tracking and job costing.
  • Assist in managing project budgets, contract billing, and cost control processes tailored to industry-specific challenges.
  • Ensure financial operations adhere to established accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

Assets

  • 3+ years’ experience working as an Accountant
  • Degree or certification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks Online, Microsoft Excel (advanced skills preferred), and Microsoft Word
  • Experience in a manufacturing or construction industry is an asset
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
