Job Summary: We are seeking a qualified and detail-oriented Accountant with proven experience in the construction industry and hands-on expertise using ERP systems such as Oracle. The ideal candidate will manage day-to-day accounting operations, ensure accurate financial reporting, support project cost controls, and maintain compliance with company policies and regulatory standards. The candidate must hold a professional accounting qualification (ACCA or CPA). Key Responsibilities – Project Accounting & Financial Control Maintain and manage general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations. Record and monitor project-related costs, budgets, and variations. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Ensure accurate posting of transactions in Oracle ERP or similar system. Perform cost analysis and support project profitability reporting. Review subcontractor invoices, supplier payments, and employee expense claims. Assist in budget preparation, forecasting, and variance analysis. Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and local regulations. Support internal and external audits and provide required documentation. Coordinate with project teams, procurement, and finance management. Required Skills & Technical Knowledge Qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) or part‑qualified with demonstrable construction accounting experience. Typically 3–6 years’ experience in project or construction accounting, commercial finance or similar roles within the construction industry. Strong knowledge of contract types, revenue recognition on construction contracts, retention accounting and cost to complete methodologies. Proficient with ERP/accounting systems (experience with Oracle, SAP, Sage or similar preferred) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills for analysis and reporting. Qualifications & Experience Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline is desirable. Professional accountancy qualification (or working towards one) is preferred. Proven track record of supporting commercial and financial delivery on construction projects with examples of delivering improved cost control or reporting efficiencies. Experience interacting with project teams, subcontractors and clients on financial matters and evidencing effective stakeholder management.
