Our client, an innovator in the construction industry, is in search of a motivated Accountant to join their office in Lower Sackville. As the ideal candidate, you have a passion for numbers and a knack for discovering efficient ways to enhance processes.
In this full-time, permanent role, you’ll lead the monthly accounting cycle, ensuring efficiency and accuracy while collaborating with a dedicated team focused on growth and teamwork.
EXPERIENCE & ATTRIBUTES FOR SUCCESS:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration with a major in accounting
- 5 years of experience in a senior accounting role
- Proficiency in various accounting software programs
- Advanced Excel skills for automating tasks, creating financial models, and streamlining data analysis
- Strong understanding of accounting terminology, techniques, and principles supporting GAAP in Canada
- Excellent data analysis and team management skills
- Strong ability to meet deadlines while maintaining high-quality work and attention to detail
- Highly motivated work ethic, consistently striving for excellence and contributing positively as a team player

Responsibilities:
- Maintain accounting records and perform reconciliations
- Manage month-end tasks, including financial reports
- Ensure all financial transactions are completed on time for monthly, quarterly, and annual statements
- Oversee Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable
- Ensure accuracy and timely submission of government reports including WCB, HST, and payroll remittances
- Lead direct reports to ensure accuracy and timely completion of their work
- Assist with the annual budget and forecasting process
- Review general ledger account variances and recommend solutions to the Director
- Train and onboard new team members as needed
- Manage credit card management software
- Provide backup support for the Payroll Administrator when needed
- Other duties and projects as assigned
