Our client, an innovator in the construction industry, is in search of a motivated Accountant to join their office in Lower Sackville. As the ideal candidate, you have a passion for numbers and a knack for discovering efficient ways to enhance processes.
In this full-time, permanent role, you’ll lead the monthly accounting cycle, ensuring efficiency and accuracy while collaborating with a dedicated team focused on growth and teamwork.

EXPERIENCE & ATTRIBUTES FOR SUCCESS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration with a major in accounting
  • 5 years of experience in a senior accounting role
  • Proficiency in various accounting software programs
  • Advanced Excel skills for automating tasks, creating financial models, and streamlining data analysis
  • Strong understanding of accounting terminology, techniques, and principles supporting GAAP in Canada
  • Excellent data analysis and team management skills
  • Strong ability to meet deadlines while maintaining high-quality work and attention to detail
  • Highly motivated work ethic, consistently striving for excellence and contributing positively as a team player

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accounting records and perform reconciliations
  • Manage month-end tasks, including financial reports
  • Ensure all financial transactions are completed on time for monthly, quarterly, and annual statements
  • Oversee Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable
  • Ensure accuracy and timely submission of government reports including WCB, HST, and payroll remittances
  • Lead direct reports to ensure accuracy and timely completion of their work
  • Assist with the annual budget and forecasting process
  • Review general ledger account variances and recommend solutions to the Director
  • Train and onboard new team members as needed
  • Manage credit card management software
  • Provide backup support for the Payroll Administrator when needed
  • Other duties and projects as assigned
