KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • 2-3 years Business Services/Tax experience (mid-tier experience desirable)
  • Degree qualified and have commenced CA/CPA/IPA studies
  • Proficient and up to date with developments in taxation law and accounting standards, systems and processes
  • Previous experience working with and developing good relationships with clients
  • Good time management skills and ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines for a large group of clients
  • Proven ability to mentor and coach junior members of staff
  • Present professionally and possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Expertise in accounting software, including MYOB AE, Xero, QuickBooks, HandiSoft and BGL is highly desirable.
  • Competent in Microsoft Applications
  • Ability to multitask and effectively manage individual and team work flow.
  • Strong working knowledge of tax planning, GST, Business Activity Statements and Instalment Activity Statements
  • Detailed knowledge of tax office correspondence and procedures
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong alignment to the organizational values & ethics.
  • Proven examples on your resume of your ability to improve processes, streamline workflows, and implement internal controls.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Business and Client Services team, which supports a range of small, medium and large private businesses and family groups, along with not-for-profit organisation. We offer a wide range of services including accounting & tax compliance, business & tax advisory, structuring, superannuation and transactional services.
As an integral member of our close-knit team, you will be given exposure to a diverse range of clients and the opportunity to further develop and grow and your skill set.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible to manage, develop and administer your own portfolio of clients, ensuring you provide an optimal service to clients and produce a high standard of work.
  • Prepare taxation returns for individual, company, trust, and other organisation tax returns. This includes BAS, IAS, FBT, CGT and PAYG.
  • · Preparation of financial statements for presentation to boards of directors, management, shareholders, and governing and statutory bodies
  • Provide feedback, guidance and technical support to junior team members
  • Assist with potential and new client opportunities or initiatives such as attending client meetings, preparation of advice and presentations
  • Liaise with various statutory authorities on behalf of clients
  • Other duties as required by the firm such as interviewing clients, attendance at training, marketing, acting as a buddy/mentor to a new member of staff, special projects, etc.
