We currently have an opening for an experienced full-time accountant at our corporate office in Renton, WA.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Associate degree from an accredited Community College with primary major of study in accounting or business administration and 1 year experience.
  • Education requirement may be substituted for 3 years experience as a full-charge bookkeeper or accountant through financial statements.
  • Proficient with applying accrual and cash basis of accounting.
  • Experience with reconciling bank and G/L accounts.
  • Excellent computer skills with Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Yardi experience a plus.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organization skills.
  • Ability to consistently meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • 10-key by touch.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Prepare and enter monthly journal entries for income and expenses into computer system.
  • Audit site reports and make necessary corrections to the A/R system.
  • Assist in training the site managers on A/R and other accounting procedures.
  • Establish and maintain rapport with site managers, portfolio managers, accounting staff, and other corporate associates.
  • Maintain positive operating and other cash account balances accurately for assigned projects by ensuring timely posting of cash receipts and disbursements.
  • Process move-outs prior to 14 days after the move-out date.
  • Reconcile bank accounts for projects assigned.
  • Enter adjusting journal entries and re-classification entries into the accounting system as requested for assigned properties.
  • Prepare and review accuracy of monthly financial statements and other reports of assigned projects. Financial statements must be submitted to the Controller on time.
  • Reconcile mortgage escrow accounts and maintain correct G/L balances.
  • Enter payroll expenses into general ledger.
  • Calculate management fee for billing.
  • Gather and properly organize information for year-end audits for auditors.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
