Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Accountant with strong property management experience to join our client’s Nisku office. This is a temporary role with the potential of converting to permanent.. The ideal candidate is independent, accurate, and thrives in a fast-paced environment while demonstrating loyalty and consistency in their career history.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage full-cycle accounting across multiple entities

Prepare journal entries, accounts payable, and accounts receivable

  • Conduct occupancy cost calculations and semi-annual reconciliations/true-ups
  • Oversee asset management, amortization, and loan schedules
  • Handle property tax reporting and compliance
  • Act as liaison for insurance (building purchases/sales, tenant, auto)
  • Complete WCB and GST filings (multiple companies)
  • Support year-end processes, including review engagements and auditor inquiries
  • Utilize Sage 50, Excel, and online banking for accounting operations
  • Provide accurate and timely financial reports (monthly financials by ~20th of following month)
  • Perform other accounting duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Accounting diploma or equivalent (CPA designation in progress or completed is an asset)
  • Minimum 3–5 years of accounting experience with exposure to property management and development
  • Proven loyalty and stability in previous roles
  • Proficiency with Sage 50 and Microsoft Excel; familiarity with BMO online banking is an asset
  • Strong understanding of full-cycle accounting, multiple GLs, and intercompany transactions
  • High accuracy in data entry and financial reporting
  • Ability to work independently and manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving, and organizational skills
