ACCOUNTANT

Location: Regents Park, NSW

Working Hours: 38 hours/week (Mon–Fri, 9:00am–5:30pm)
Salary: $78,000-$82,000 plus super

ABOUT US

AuExpress is a growing logistics and delivery company based in Sydney. We are offering a series of logistics services, including international small parcel service from Australia to China, special line express, customs supervision warehouse storage, international freight forwarding, integrated logistics and other special services. We are currently seeking a detail-oriented, reliable, and proactive Accountant to join our team on a full-time basis.

This role plays a crucial part in maintaining financial accuracy, supporting reporting needs, and assisting management with insightful project and cash flow analysis.

  • Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements and reports to ensure accuracy, compliance with accounting standards, and alignment with business objectives.
  • Develop and maintain financial models and project budgets, analyze cost structures, and identify variances against forecasts with actionable recommendations.
  • Provide strategic financial advice to management by preparing monthly project-based profit and loss reports (budget vs actual), and deliver insights on revenue, expenses, and margin improvement.
  • Manage end-to-end accounts receivable and payable processes, ensuring timely invoicing, payment processing, reconciliations, and cash flow monitoring using Xero.
  • Conduct month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and account reconciliations.
  • Prepare and monitor detailed cash flow forecasts and present weekly reports to the Managing Director to support decision-making.
  • Coordinate audit preparation and assist external auditors by providing necessary documentation and explanations in compliance with tax and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare compliance reports including local content reporting for specific projects and other statutory filings.
  • Collaborate closely with operations and logistics teams to ensure financial processes support delivery milestones and business performance metrics.

REQUIREMENTS

· Tertiary degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred
· At least one year of accountant work experience in Australia
· Proven experience using Xero and sound knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
· Strong analytical skills with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
· Excellent attention to detail, communication, and organizational abilities.
· Experience in logistics or project-based industries is preferred.
