Responsibilities

THE ROLE

We are looking for experienced Accountant to join our team in Support Office. Our Finance Team is a close-knit team made up of diverse individuals and work well together!
The accountant is responsible for core financial accounting processes and within the Finance Team. This is a permanent, full-time role based in Hawthorn East.

The accountant will be responsible and involved in areas of:

  • Budgets and Accounting Policies
  • Year-end Audits and Prudentials
  • Cash Flow/Treasury oversight
  • Financial Policy Development
  • Internal Controls

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Commerce, Business or related discipline.
  • Minimum of 12 Months experience in the Aged care Sector as an Accountant
  • Strong team player with a demonstrated ability to provide technical coaching/mentoring to finance team members and influence key stakeholders to secure delivery of financial activities within set time frames
  • Ability to analyse data, problem solve and to draw appropriate conclusions
  • Intermediate MS Office skills, with a strong background in general ledger systems
  • Broad knowledge of the Aged Care industry and an understanding of Government subsidy income claims, payments and reconciliations in the residential space as well as an understanding of the RADs, Probates and Prudential Process
