Description

Bestar is a dynamic and growing accounting firm with its head office in Singapore and key regional offices overseas. We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accountant to manage the firm’s own financial affairs and support our continued expansion.
This role is based in our Singapore office and will be crucial in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records across all locations. The successful candidate will work closely with our leadership team and stakeholders to provide timely and accurate financial information.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional Certification: A professional accounting qualification such as CPA, ACCA, or CA is highly advantageous.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within a professional services firm or a multinational company.
  • Proven experience handling multi-currency transactions and preparing consolidated financial statements.Prior experience with accounting for an overseas branch or subsidiary is highly desirable.


    • Technical Skills:

    • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, SAP, or similar).
    • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel for financial modeling and data analysis.Strong understanding of SFRS and IFRS.

      • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
      • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
      • Highly organized, with meticulous attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
      • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
      Responsibilities

      KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

      • Financial Reporting: Prepare and present timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, in compliance with Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (SFRS) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
      • Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts, and monitor performance against these targets, providing detailed analysis and recommendations to management.
      • Accounting Operations: Oversee all aspects of the accounting cycle, including:
      • Managing accounts payable and receivable for both the Singapore and overseas offices.
      • Processing staff expense claims and credit card reconciliations.
      • Handling inter-company transactions and consolidation of financial statements for all offices.
      • Tax and Compliance: Manage the firm’s corporate tax filings and GST submissions in Singapore. Ensure compliance with all tax regulations in both Singapore and the overseas office’s jurisdiction.
      • Payroll Administration: Administer payroll for employees in both Singapore (including CPF contributions) and the overseas office, ensuring accuracy and timely payment.
      • Internal Controls & Audit: Implement and maintain robust internal financial controls. Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors during the annual audit process.
      • Ad-Hoc Duties: Assist with ad-hoc projects and financial analysis as required by management.
