Description

COMPANY OVERVIEW:

We are a leading manufacturer of Sulphur-based fertilizer products, with a commitment to listening to the agronomic needs of our customers to create products that fit their regional profiles. Our BiziSul location in Blackfalds is seeking a full-time Accountant to manage the day-to-day financial activities of the company.
Reports to: The Accountant will report to the Controller of Bizi Group of Companies and the CEO at BiziSul.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Commerce/Business degree with a Major in Accounting.
  • Accounting designation, or an equivalent combination of related experience and education preferrable.
  • 2 years related experience in the manufacturing sector (preferred).
  • Experience with SAGE 300 (preferred).
  • Knowledge of personnel policies and procedures and willingness to comply with company policies for privacy and confidentiality, applicable laws.
  • Demonstrate excellent written, oral communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to problem solve, team build, coach, and have ingenuity and initiative to coordinate problem resolutions and execute requirements in team environments.
  • Must be a team player that is also self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Computer literate with experience in Microsoft Office and Adobe internet-based web access is a plus.

    Pay: $50,000.00-$65,000.00 per year

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO, THE FOLLOWING:

  • Manage the day-to-day financial activities of the company, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and cash management, working closely with senior management.
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly and annual operating budgets.
  • Develop and manage financial controls in accordance with the company’s procedures.
  • Participate in the development of and support the company’s strategic plans.
  • Communicate financial metrics to senior management.
  • Process daily inventory production. Reconcile month end inventory.
  • Prepare and post accounts receivable and payable.
  • Prepare bi-monthly payroll.
  • Process weekly payables files and bi-monthly payrolls.
  • Assist with year end and T4 filing.
  • Assist with the annual year-end financial audit (work with external corporate accountant on completing the year-end).
