Our work spans land development, new home construction, and long-term investment holdings. To support our continued growth, we are seeking a skilled and reliable Accountant/Bookkeeper with hands-on Sage 50 experience to manage the financial operations across multiple companies.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Proven experience as an Accountant or Bookkeeper, preferably within real estate development, construction, or multi-entity environments.
  • Proficiency in Sage 50 (mandatory).
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Ability to manage multiple sets of books with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Experience preparing budgets, cash flow statements, and financial forecasts.
  • Strong knowledge of HST/GST compliance and filings.
  • Experience supporting T2 corporate tax returns is an asset.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with project managers, executives, and external consultants.
  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred but not required with strong experience).
Responsibilities

ROLE OVERVIEW

The Accountant/Bookkeeper will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial records, effective cash flow management, and timely reporting for our group of companies. This position requires exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to navigate the complexities of multi-entity accounting within the real estate development industry.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain full-cycle accounting for multiple corporate entities using Sage 50.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing of invoices, payments, and collections.
  • Complete monthly bank and account reconciliations for each company.
  • Prepare individual and consolidated financial statements, cash flow reports, and budgets.
  • Track intercompany transactions and reconcile balances across entities.
  • Monitor project-related costs, budgets, and allocations for development projects.
  • Oversee payroll processing and ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Prepare and file HST returns accurately and on time for all entities.
  • Support annual audits, T2 corporate tax return preparation, and external reporting requirements.
  • Provide timely financial analysis and insights to management for decision-making.
  • Maintain accurate and organized records to support financing, compliance, and reporting.
