Description
About Us Suger helps B2B software companies sell through cloud marketplaces like AWS, Azure, GCP, Oracle, Alibaba, and Snowflake - now one of the fastest-growing enterprise sales channels. Marketplace sales are operationally complex: pricing, contracting, billing, revenue recognition, and compliance all intersect across multiple cloud providers. Suger removes this complexity with an API-first revenue platform that powers quote-to-cash and marketplace workflows at scale. Launched in 2022, Suger works with over 250 B2B customers, ranging from large enterprises such as Snowflake and Intel to fast-growing startups such as Glean and Vanta. We’re a Series A company backed by Threshold VC, Craft Ventures, Intel Capital, and Y Combinator. As our part-time Bookkeeper, you'll own the day-to-day financial record-keeping that keeps Suger running cleanly. This is a focused, execution-oriented role - not a strategic finance position. You'll work closely with our founders and operations team to ensure our books are accurate, reconciled, and audit-ready at all times. We're a fast-moving startup, so you'll need to be comfortable operating with some ambiguity and building lightweight processes as we grow. This is a part-time remote role (15~20 hours/week). You may need to come into the office occasionally for in-person meetings as needed. \n In this role, you'll: Maintain accurate and up-to-date general ledger entries across all accounts Process accounts payable and receivable, including vendor payments and customer invoicing Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reports for internal review Support external accountants during tax filings and audits by organizing and providing required documentation Track and categorize expenses across departments Identify and flag discrepancies proactively before they become issues We're seeking someone with experience including: 3+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience, ideally in a startup or SaaS environment Proficiency in accounting software Solid understanding of GAAP fundamentals and standard bookkeeping practices High attention to detail - you catch errors others miss Self-directed and reliable: able to manage your own schedule and deadlines without close supervision Comfortable working remotely and asynchronously with a distributed team What Success Looks Like Books are reconciled and up-to-date at all times with no surprises at month-end Financial reports are delivered on time and require minimal back-and-forth to clarify The operations and leadership team has full confidence in the accuracy of our financial data Bonus Points Experience working with multi-currency transactions or US/Canada cross-border financials Familiarity with SaaS revenue recognition or subscription billing models CPA designation or working toward one Why Join Us Compensation: $25-$30 CAD/hr, commensurate with experience (based on Vancouver market rates for part-time bookkeeping roles) Flexible, fully remote schedule - work when it works for you Flat org structure with real product-market fit - your work directly supports a fast-scaling business \n
Responsibilities
The bookkeeper will manage daily financial record-keeping, including general ledger entries, accounts payable and receivable, and bank reconciliations. They will also prepare financial reports and support the team during tax filings and audits.
