Grade - D
Pattern of Work – 36.5 hours, Monday - Friday

WHAT WE NEED TO KNOW ABOUT YOU

  • You should be a strong part-qualified accountant. CIMA/ACCA qualified accountant would be advantageous along with a degree or equivalent qualification.
  • You will have experience in month-end preparation and reporting activities.
  • You’ll be familiar with preparing balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Practical understanding of financial systems from a user perspective is expected.
  • You must demonstrate solid verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective time management abilities are essential.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, are required.
  • You will be self-motivated and disciplined.
  • You should feel comfortable operating in a fast-changing or dynamic environment.
  • A positive, approachable attitude and ability to work well within a team are key.
  • Budget preparation, SAP experience and knowledge of best practice finance processes would also be advantageous.

Responsibilities

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE ROLE

As a key member of our finance team, you’ll play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality accounting and financial support. Your responsibilities will include producing standardised financial reports and insightful analysis to help drive performance reviews and inform strategic decision-making across the business.
Working closely with your colleagues in finance, you’ll champion consistency and contribute to the development and maintenance of best practice throughout the department.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Include but are not limited to;

  • Complete Weekly and Monthly Production Evaluation Performance Models to the required deadline
  • Analyse Mill performance and cost drivers utilising variance analysis (e.g. energy, labour, yield).
  • Business Partner and collaborate with operations teams improve performance and efficiencies.
  • Monitor and evaluate WIP and finished goods inventory, ensuring correct valuation recording
  • Perform monthly stock reconciliations for Steel Inventory to validate balances and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Attend weekly / monthly finance meetings with the operations teams to provide financial insight to help drive decision making
  • Produce monthly Balance sheet reconciliations
  • Deliver budget preparation and forecasting tasks as required to deadline
  • Assist with Financial audit as and when required
  • Develop an understanding of the businesses product costs
  • Carry out/manage any other projects or tasks as requested by the FD or Plant Manager from time to time
