Qualifications:

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in accounting, with a strong preference for experience within the hospitality or restaurant industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Proficiency in accounting software, such as Xero, MYOB, and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent understanding of financial accounting principles, Australian accounting standards, and tax regulations.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional communication skills
Responsibilities

We seek an experienced and detail-oriented Accountant to manage the accounting cycle for our busy restaurant. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and providing insightful financial reporting to support strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

  • oversee the general ledger, accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of robust internal controls and accounting policies and procedures.
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, including P&L, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Monitor and manage inventory valuation and cost of goods sold.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors.
  • Handle accounting transactions and support various financial aspects of a hospitality business.
  • Contribute to budgeting and forecasting processes.
