Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE:

  • This role is ideal for an accountant with experience in the industrial welding industry looking for flexibility and work-life balance. While the role is expected to be 5 days per week, there is an opportunity for additional work for the right candidate.
  • Hybrid Work Model: Work from home and in-office.
  • In-Office Requirement: At least four day per week in the office is required. This includes handling hard-copy invoices, delivery dockets, and collaborating with the team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • BAS, GST & ATO Reporting – Ensure accurate preparation and lodgement of tax obligations, including QBCC reporting and other financial regulatory requirements.
  • Invoice Management – Accurately enter invoices, correctly coding them to relevant projects.
  • Payroll Processing – Manage weekly payroll, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
  • Superannuation, QLeave & Construction Industry Reportable Taxable Payments – Process and report all obligations.
  • Accounts Reconciliation – Ensure accounts are balanced and accurate.
  • Cost Control & Financial Reporting –- Prepare monthly cost reports, cost-to-complete reports, job profitability reports, and company cash flow analysis.- Track and analyse
  • project costs vs. budget to support informed decision-making.
  • Software Utilisation –- MYOB experience is highly regarded.- We also use Nexvia (Project Management Software), which syncs with MYOB. Training will be provided.
  • Liaise with Suppliers, External Accountants & Project Teams – Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to manage accounts, ensure compliance, and prepare audit-ready documentation.
