TTO International, a subdivision of TTO BMA, is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Accountant/ Data Analyst. In this role, you will play a crucial part in managing financial operations and analyzing key data to support strategic business decisions. Your insights and recommendations will be instrumental in helping our organization make informed business decisions for the company and our customers and maintain a competitive edge in the pulp and recycled paper industry.
Role and Responsibilities
· Maintain accurate financial records, including journal entries, reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.
· Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly, annually).
· Handle accounts payable/receivable, Gusto payroll, expense tracking, and bank reconciliations.
· Ensure full compliance with local and international accounting standards, UAE corporate tax regulations, VAT laws, and other relevant tax legislation.
· Assist in budget preparation, forecasting, and financial planning.
· Maintain and regularly update budget sheets and financial trackers to reflect actuals, variances, and projections.
· Monitor departmental spending against budgets, flag discrepancies, and work with teams to ensure adherence to financial plans.
· Support internal and external audits by providing accurate and well-organized documentation.
· Contribute to the development and implementation of accounting procedures and best practices to improve accuracy and efficiency.
· Develop and maintain dashboards and visual reports for management and stakeholders.
· Collect, organize, and analyze data from various internal and external sources.
· Use data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for cost optimization and operational improvement.
· Proactively monitor data to detect inconsistencies, anomalies, or values that fall outside of expected ranges — and flag these irregularities for immediate investigation or corrective action.
· Evaluate data quality and completeness; troubleshoot and resolve data issues, ensuring that insights are based on reliable information.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide data-driven recommendations.
· Work with QuickBooks (or similar accounting software) to streamline bookkeeping and financial processes.
· Continuously seek opportunities to automate manual processes and improve workflow efficiency.
· Implement best practices in data management and financial reporting.
· Work closely with other departments and stakeholders to support ongoing financial and operational strategies.
· Clearly communicate insights and financial information in an understandable manner.
· Confidently engage with team members from various departments to inquire about specific expenses, investigate irregularities, and gain context for unusual data or transactions.
· Take initiative to verify unclear financial entries or data points by reaching out to relevant staff, ensuring all records are accurate and properly justified.
· Participate in meetings, audits, and cross-functional projects as required.
