Overview:
Douglas J. Bergen & Associates Ltd. is seeking a full-time Accountant to join our team. This position will be responsible for the day-to-day financial and administrative operations of the company.
The Accountant will be responsible for processing financial transactions, preparing reports, performing reconciliations, and assisting with payroll and financial statement preparation. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

The following requirements must be met by an applicant in order to be considered for the position:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is considered an asset.
  • 2+ years of experience in an accounting role.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop, and QuickBooks Online.
  • Experience with project management software.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Experience with financial reconciliations, payroll, and reporting.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities
  • General Accounting & Financial Transactions:
  • Process accounts payable (A/P) and accounts receivable (A/R).
  • Maintain accurate financial records and reconcile accounts.
  • Assist with financial statement preparation.
  • Perform full-cycle payroll processing and ensure timely payments.
  • Ensure compliance with payroll regulations and tax laws.
  • Budgeting & Financial Reporting:
  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports and budgets.
  • Prepare pro-forma financial statements and viability assessments.
  • Prepare and submit loan drawdown documents for construction projects.
  • Maintain records and ensure compliance with financial reporting requirements.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration:
  • Work with other team members to gather financial data.
  • Provide financial insights to support decision-making.
