JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant with a solid background in the hospital or medical center environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, preparing reports, ensuring regulatory compliance (especially with healthcare-related financial guidelines), and supporting budgeting and cost control functions. This position plays a critical role in maintaining financial integrity and supporting operational efficiency in a healthcare setting.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s or CPA/ACCA is preferred).
  • Minimum 5+ years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a hospital or medical center setting.
  • In-depth knowledge of healthcare billing systems, insurance claim processing, and revenue cycle management.
  • Proficient in accounting software and hospital management systems (e.g., HIS, ERP, SAP).
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting.
  • Solid understanding of healthcare accounting standards and local regulatory compliance.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports for hospital management and board.
  • Oversee general ledger functions and ensure all financial transactions are recorded in compliance with hospital policies and healthcare accounting standards.
  • Manage monthly and year-end closing processes and reconciliations.
  • Coordinate with hospital departments (e.g., pharmacy, labs, patient billing) for income and expense tracking.
  • Monitor patient revenue cycles, insurance claims, reimbursements, and collections.
  • Prepare and review VAT, corporate tax, and other healthcare-related financial compliance filings.
  • Assist in the development and monitoring of department budgets and forecasts.
  • Liaise with external auditors, insurance companies, and regulatory bodies during audits or inspections.
  • Analyze operating costs, including equipment depreciation, supplies usage, and payroll allocations.
  • Supervise junior accounting staff and provide mentorship and training.
