Our client in Calgary is seeking an Entry-Level Contract Accountant to support month-end close, audit prep, and accounting projects.

REQUIREMENTS:

2+ years’ accounting experience, preferably in oil & gas or construction
Degree or diploma in Finance or Accounting
Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP)
Detail-oriented, analytical, and able to meet deadlines
Knowledge of payroll and tax rules is a plus
Familiarity with accounting software an asset
Available to start immediately

Prepare journal entries and reconciliations
Support financial audits with reports and inquiries
Manage capital spending tracking and improve month-end close
Process payments, reconcile supplier statements, and maintain AP aging
Review, code, and post invoices; assist with full-cycle AP/AR
Reconcile AR/AP sub-ledgers to general ledger monthly
Ensure compliance with company policies and internal controls
Prepare capital reports, fixed asset reconciliations, and annual financial reports
Support budgeting, forecasting, and finance projects
Ad-hoc duties as requested
