PAY RANGE: Accountant I: $52,700 - $65,900
Accountant II: $64,500 - $80,600
Accountant Sr: $72,900 - $97,200
Scheduled Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; Additional hours as needed.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree with an accounting major, CPA preferred.
  • Must possess advanced proficiency with Excel.
  • Preferred qualifications include utility industry experience and PeopleSoft, PowerPlan or Workiva experience.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND/OR ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to solve accounting problems.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Independently research and make recommendations on how to comply with accounting standards.
  • Work with other groups in the company to ensure that accounting transactions are recorded accurately/efficiently and find solutions to accounting or system issues.
  • Display initiative and self-reliance with ability to self-prioritize multiple projects and strict deadlines while maintaining high-quality performance under pressure.
  • Maintain effective internal controls by developing and following procedures and maintaining adequate supporting documentation and audit trails for all aspects of responsibilities.

  • Willingness to work the hours necessary to meet strict deadlines under pressure.
Responsibilities

This accountant may be involved in various corporate accounting functions including but not limited to intercompany transactions, accruals, prepaid expenses, long-term debt, leases, payroll, and inventory as well as performing related account reconciliations, as required. Specific duties may be assigned depending on individual’s skillset, desires, and organizational needs. This person should possess an aptitude for learning and initiating process improvements. This position is responsible for ensuring transactional compliance with various regulatory guidelines, GAAP, and internal policy and providing information and analysis to support various regulatory filings. In addition, the accountant may be involved in system implementations and process improvement projects in addition to regular duties.
