As we prepare for a busy period of self-assessments and Making Tax Digital (MTD) changes, we’re looking for an experienced Accountant who can take ownership, make decisions confidently, and play a key role in supporting our growing client base.

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a hands-on, client-facing role focused on delivering accurate, reliable accounting services. You’ll be preparing tax returns, supporting MTD submissions, and handling client queries directly. A big part of the role is working independently, managing outsourced bookkeeping teams, and making decisions without needing constant oversight.
If you can also support bookkeeping tasks, or bring experience managing sole trader/self-assessment clients, that’s a real bonus.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare and submit self-assessment tax returns (SA100) for sole traders and directors
  • Ensure compliance and accuracy across all submissions to HMRC
  • Support MTD onboarding and quarterly submission processes
  • Build trusted client relationships and act as a key point of contact for queries
  • Manage outsourced bookkeeping teams (India-based) via Teams, ensuring quality and efficiency
  • Use Xero and other cloud-based tools to complete and manage workflows
  • (Optional/Bonus) Assist with or review bookkeeping tasks to support client needs
