We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team at Compassionate Care WA. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial management, budgeting, and compliance, with experience in the NDIS or healthcare sector being highly desirable. This role requires someone who is analytical, organized, and proactive in managing financial operations, ensuring accuracy in reporting, and maintaining compliance with statutory requirements.

SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience in accounting, preferably within the NDIS or healthcare sector.
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, MYOB, or similar platforms.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with stakeholders, financial institutions, and regulatory bodies.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and commitment to ethical financial practices.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
Responsibilities
  • Assist in developing and implementing budgetary and accounting policies to ensure financial stability and compliance.
  • Prepare accurate financial statements for presentation to management, boards, shareholders, and regulatory bodies.
  • Conduct financial investigations, audits, and analysis, providing reports on mergers, acquisitions, capital financing, and suspected fraud.
  • Evaluate operating costs, income streams, and overall expenditure to enhance financial efficiency.
  • Ensure financial reports are accurate, transparent, and compliant with statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide strategic financial and taxation advice to support business planning, operations, and structural decisions.
  • Prepare tax returns for both individuals and organizations while ensuring compliance with tax laws.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with financial institutions and brokers to manage funds effectively.
  • Implement and oversee accounting systems, offering guidance on the selection and use of computer-based financial tools.
  • Develop and maintain robust internal control systems to safeguard financial assets and data integrity.
  • Analyze and assess cash flow trends and financial risks associated with capital investment projects.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and provide recommendations for financial efficiency improvements.
  • Support compliance with financial regulations, assisting with audits and external reporting requirements.
  • Monitor and manage payroll, superannuation, GST, BAS, and PAYG obligations.
  • Contribute to long-term financial planning by forecasting revenue, expenses, and investment returns.
