Description JOB SUMMARY: The accountant participates in the delivery of excellent medical services in a patient centered medical home environment with an emphasis on the importance of the individual patient’s needs by supporting and assisting the Controller. The accountant supports Hope Christian Health Center’s Finance department by providing excellent administrative support and adhere to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). While coordinating improvements in the financial area of the clinic by maximizing revenue and minimizing expenses when possible. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Accounting Administrative Duties: Records vendor bills and other transactions in QuickBooks. Oversee the purchasing position to ensure quality and cost effectiveness. Works with vendors for accuracy of A/P updates, balances, and appropriate documentation (W-9, Workman’s Comp Certificate, Business License). Discussing bill payments with Controller. Prepares, prints, and sends vendor checks. Prepare weekly cash and check deposits. Create invoices for medical documents. Enter all deposit information on the daily monitor. Prepares monthly WRAP revenue report. Assists the Controller in preparing end of month closing to include reconciling bank accounts, updating the fixed asset deprecation report, reconciling the daily monitor with bank statement, determining accrued payroll and paid time off balances, and preparing the revenue and A/R report. Assists the Controller in managing all Federal, State, and Local grants in Accounting Software and assists in preparing requests for reimbursement as needed. Assists the Administrative Assistant with ensuring all insurance coverage including D&O Insurance, worker’s compensation, general liability, automobile, cyber coverage, etc. are in place and up to date. Prepare accounting documentation for the team as requested. Clerical?work such as checking the mail and filing documents. Always maintains a courteous and professional demeanor. Always maintains the confidentiality of Hope Christian Health Center finances and patient-related information. Performs all other duties as assigned. Uphold Complies with HIPAA and protects patient information. The accountant ensures compliance with all 19 Health Resources and Services. Administration (HRSA) Health Center Program Requirements. The accountant is also expected to actively participate in and support quality improvement activities and the clinical practice team efforts emphasizing the importance of the individual patient and putting the patient’s needs first. Requirements Qualifications: At least (2) years experience in Bookkeeping and Accounting- preferred Knowledge of QuickBooks Online and NetSuite- preferred Education: Certificate, Associates, or bachelor’s degree in finance/accounting - preferred KEY COMPETENCIES FOR SUCCESS: Faith to believe that Hope is a ministry of God, exemplifying the love of Christ, and held and directed by the Holy Spirit. Knowledge and Practical use of GAAP and general ledger accounts Ability to operate general office machinery (computers, calculators, copy/fax machine, telephones, etc.) Outstanding ability to build interpersonal relationships at all levels. Responsibilities
The accountant supports the Finance department by managing vendor bills, processing deposits, and assisting the Controller with month-end closing and bank reconciliations. They are also responsible for managing grant reimbursements and ensuring compliance with HRSA Health Center Program Requirements.
