DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • 2-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in commercial real estate, property management, or a related industry.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and core accounting principles.
  • Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with accounting software such as MS Dynamics, Yardi, MRI, or QuickBooks.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
Responsibilities

THE ROLE

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Corporate Accountant to join our dynamic accounting and finance team in downtown San Diego. In this role, you will play a critical part in maintaining accurate financial records, managing transactional processes, and supporting financial reporting. Your contributions will help ensure the financial health of our business while upholding compliance with GAAP and internal controls.
As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with internal stakeholders, enhance financial processes, and contribute to special projects that drive efficiency and growth.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Financial Reporting - Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Accounts Payable Management - Process vendor invoices, ensure accurate account coding, and manage timely payments while maintaining strong vendor relationships.
  • Accounts Receivable Support - Generate and send invoices for brokerage commissions, tenant reimbursements, and other revenue streams; track outstanding balances and assist with collections.
  • General Ledger & Reconciliations - Record journal entries, reconcile bank and credit card accounts, and maintain accurate financial records.
  • Month-End Close - Support the month-end closing process, including accruals, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
  • Process Improvement & Special Projects - Participate in system enhancements, process automation, and financial analysis initiatives to optimize workflows.
