SENIOR ACCOUNTANT - SURREY, BC

We are currently looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our finance team in Surrey, BC. In this position, you will play a key part in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data across various operational functions. The Senior Accountant handles everything from financial reporting and tax compliance to audit coordination and ERP optimization.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • CPA designation.
  • 5+ years of experience in corporate accounting.
  • Experience in multi-site or cross-border (Canada/US) business environments is preferred.
  • Background in distribution, logistics, or construction materials sectors is an asset.
  • Strong grasp of GAAP principles; ASPE experience preferred.
  • High proficiency in Excel (e.g., PivotTables, VLOOKUP, Macros).
  • Comfortable working with ERP systems and driving efficiency through automation.
  • Experience with vendor contract analysis and rebate tracking.
  • Solid knowledge of tax regulations and audit procedures.

    - Strong organizational and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities
  • Manage general ledger operations, including bank reconciliations, daily cash tracking, and monthly reporting.
  • Prepare and submit sales tax filings for both Canadian and U.S. jurisdictions, ensuring compliance with relevant tax codes.
  • Analyze vendor agreements and manage rebate program reconciliations.
  • Conduct account reconciliations and perform variance analysis to maintain financial accuracy.
  • Lead audit preparation efforts, including compiling documentation and addressing auditor queries.
  • Support the preparation and review of year-end income tax filings at the federal and provincial/state levels.

    - Assist in ERP system enhancements and other financial process improvement initiatives.
