REQUIREMENTS :

  • University degree in Accounting is an asset or a diploma in Administration with relevant experience
  • Relevant experience of 1 to 5 years in Property Accounting
  • Proficient in MS Office software, particularly Excel
  • Proficient in computer skills at an intermediate level
  • Familiarity with Yardi Voyager is a plus
  • Strong ability to take initiative and manage projects independently
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities:

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION :

This role is based in Kelowna, with the candidate reporting to the Controller at our Montreal, QC office. The ideal candidate will have the opportunity to gain comprehensive experience with the full accounting cycle, develop strong communication skills, and gain valuable experience as a Property Accountant. The candidate must be able to manage multiple priorities, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and work effectively as part of a team.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Ensure all monthly financial and management reporting is produced according to policy requirements and is delivered accurately and on a timely basis.
  • Reconcile and maintain a full understanding of all balance sheet and income statement accounts and prepare a detailed monthly variance analysis of revenue and expenses utilizing annual property budgets.
  • Monitor cash positions and prepare monthly cash distributions and cash calls.
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual property budget packages ensuring accurate completion of the accounting portion of annual property budgets.
  • Undertake projects and other duties assigned by the Controller.
