EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:

  • 4+ years’ experience in accounting, including applicable experience in interpreting and applying U.S. GAAP and in financial statement preparation
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, or business with an accounting emphasis, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in managing projects.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications with advanced Excel skills required.
  • Episys/Symitar Experience preferred.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Written, Verbal, and Interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Practices (GAAP) and ability to research issues
  • Ability to read and interpret financial reports
  • Attention to detail
  • Can be accountable for the completion of assigned deliverables with little day-to-day management
  • Uses judgement, but supervision required for overall tasks
  • Experienced understanding of the business line and a basic understanding of specialized discipline.
  • Able to handle problems that are difficult, but typically not complex
Responsibilities

WHAT IS THE WORK ENVIRONMENT LIKE, AND ARE THERE PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS ROLE?

  • Hybrid / Office environment: Typically, a dispersed, flexible team environment both on Westerra campus and remote. Must reside in Colorado, with designated in-office days at our Cherry Creek HQ (2x/week)
    Salary: in addition to the starting hourly rate of $29.97 - $37, this role is also eligible for Westerra’s self-funding reward plan. This plan pays out a cash incentive annually if Westerra hits specific criteria tied to financial goals and this role has a direct impact on the outcome of those results!
