Reports To: CFO, Will Schwalb
Classification: Full-Time, Salaried (Exempt)
Compensation: $50,000 – $55,000/year
Catholic Charities is seeking a detail-oriented Accountant I to join our Finance team. In this role, you will work from the St. Teresa of Calcutta Campus at 9223 Bedford Ave and report directly to CFO, Will Schwalb. QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred (or working toward completion).
  • 0–2 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Working knowledge of accounting software (e.g., Financial Edge, Raiser’s Edge, ADP Payroll) is a plus.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain accuracy with attention to detail.
  • Commitment to upholding ethical accounting standards and maintaining confidentiality.
Responsibilities
  • Journal Entries: Prepare monthly journal entries relating to month-end close.
  • Reconciliation: Reconcile various General Ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and proper documentation.
  • Budget Analysis: Review departmental financial results against budgets; analyze and explain key variances.
  • Financial Audits: Assist with the preparation of annual workpapers for external financial audits.
  • Accounts Payable: Process invoices, run weekly payment cycles, maintain vendor relations, and create year-end 1099s.
  • Accounts Receivable: Support the Controller/CFO with receivables and related transactions.
  • General Support: Contribute to the Finance team by performing additional duties as assigned by management.
