Education/Training: B.S. or B.A. degree in Accounting or related field of study is preferred. Experience: Prefer a minimum of two (2) years of experience in related position. The Accountant I is responsible for performing various duties to support the accounting, financial reporting, and control functions. This position will help achieve goals as established in the Accounting Department's annual operating plan. Some of the duties are as followed: Assists in the preparation of various Regulatory reports, including Call Report, Federal Reserve Report, ALCO Reports, Annual Summary of Deposits, etc. Assists in the gathering of data used in the preparation of special or custom financial reports, including Annual Audited Financial Statements, Quarterly Stub Statements, other custom reports, etc. Provides assistance in gathering information in preparation of the annual budget, including branch level budgets. Reconciles monthly pre-paid and accrued expense accounts. Updates pledged securities for Public Funds; prepares correspondence to customers in relation to Public Funds pledging. Prepares invoice summary report for the Board of Directors. Reconciles Fixed Asset, Accumulated, and Expense general ledger accounts; runs reports to check for accuracy of input; processes entries to balance the general ledger to the depreciation system; prepares and distributes Fixed Asset Tags. Prepare 1099-MISC/NEC forms on an annual basis. Prepare sales and use tax reports quarterly. Perform annual branch audits.
