REQUIREMENTS:

  • 2-5 years’ cost accounting or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

PURPOSE:

As the Cost Accountant II, you will be responsible for maintaining and evaluating the standard costs of raw materials, WIP (work-in-progress) and finished goods inventories through the assessment of bill of materials (BOMs), labor routings and overhead expenses. You will ensure that costs are allocated according to established procedures and will analyze purchasing and/or manufacturing variances to ensure accuracy while resolving issues in a timely manner. You will prepare reports for management and perform ad-hoc analysis that could include cost savings initiatives, cost estimates on new products, and /or product time efficiencies. You will update standard cost as needed and ensure that costs are compliant with generally accepted accounting principles.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain and roll-up standard cost in an integrated ERP system (M2K - Epicor Manage 2000 & Costpoint)
  • Review BOMs and labor routing cost to ensure accuracy
  • Establish standard material cost for purchased inventory items
  • Analyze / review purchase price variances, overissues, and shortages
  • Support the development and documentation of standard labor and overhead rates
  • Analyze / review production work order variances, and recommend solutions for large cost discrepancy
  • Prepare/ analyze inventory impairment reports, such as scrap, shrinkage, and obsolescence
  • Plan and supervise physical inventory and weekly cycle counts
  • Reconcile stockroom, vendor-owned, and intercompany inventory
  • Report on inventory by sales code, plant labor, and FX currency
  • Conduct month-end system close responsibilities on a rotational schedule
  • Participate in various audits including financial and SOX audits
  • Demonstrate high proficiency in MS Excel
  • Strong attention to detail and autonomous work integrity
  • Ability to clearly and effectively communicate with operational team members and leadership
