Description

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university, including or supplemented by three credit hours in auditing.
Experience: Two years of experience examining, analyzing and interpreting accounting systems, records and reports by applying generally accepted accounting principles.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The desired candidate should possess grant or government accounting experience or education.

Responsibilities

This position will perform the accounting functions of the LBHA & LMB of Garrett County as well as assist in performing the accounting functions of the Garrett County Health Department, including examining and reporting financial status and reports to ensure the sound fiscal operation of the agency; includes preparation, monitoring, and auditing of contracts with sub-vendors for compliance with State and Federal MOUs, and monitoring, analyzing, and reporting expenditures in all applicable systems. This position also serves as backup for performing all duties for the Accountant Supervisor, specifically overseeing invoice processing and journal entry creation.
