Job Summary Reporting to the General Accounting Controller, the Accountant II is responsible for supporting the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes. This role involves assisting with the consolidation of financial data across multiple locations and business units. The Accountant II will also be involved in preparing corporate internal financial reports and supporting the management of the company's inventory function. The position requires attention to detail and strong analytical skills to ensure accurate financial reporting and inventory management. Responsibilities and Tasks  * Monitor and analyze data related to inventory, cost of goods sold, materials, and production supply on the general ledger accounts. * Support the inventory management process by identifying and auditing large variance from the subledger to general ledger. * Responsible for the timely and accurate completion of the monthly accounting period close including reviewing of journal entries, identification, and resolution of issues. * Prepare and review monthly financial statements, internal financial management reports, and ad-hoc financial analysis as required. * Works closely with other departments to maintain adherence to internal controls. * Prepare monthly inventory reconciliations. * Assist the quarter-end, and year-end audit with outside auditors and fiscal year accounting close. * Provide leadership, direction, and guidance to department personnel. * Other responsibilities as required. Education, Experience & License or Certification * Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, MBA preferred. * 4-8 years of progressive experience in general accounting and inventory functions, across multiple locations and business units. * Prior supervisory experience is a plus. * Must have experience with SOX Compliance and Audits. * Government accounting experience is a plus! Skills and Abilities * Strong analytical, problem solving and organizational skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task effectively. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to interact effectively with all levels throughout the organization. * Working knowledge of applicable accounting and payroll laws, regulations, and standards. * Excellent knowledge of MS Excel, Word, Outlook and working knowledge of SharePoint and PowerPoint * U.S. Citizenship is required.
