About the Job: We are looking for a CA or CPA-qualified accountant with around five years of experience to join our Sydney finance team. This is a newly created role and a broad, hands-on position covering day-to-day accounting, statutory reporting, and tax compliance. You will work closely with the local finance team and gain genuine exposure to digital asset accounting in a regulated, fast-moving environment. It is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to grow their career in the fintech or crypto sector. Your responsibilities will include: Assist with month-end and year-end close, including journal entries, reconciliations, and preparation of working papers Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations and manage the fixed asset register Support the preparation of statutory financial statements in accordance with AASB / IFRS Assist with BAS, GST, FBT, and income tax compliance in coordination with external tax advisors Perform daily and monthly reconciliation of fiat and digital asset accounts Assist with the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors and preparing audit support schedules Contribute to continuous improvement of finance processes, controls, and system workflows Provide ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as required by the Financial Controller and CFO Experience and Skills we are looking for: CA or CPA qualified (or in the final stages of qualification) Approximately 5 years of accounting experience, ideally including time in public practice (Big 4 or mid-tier) Solid working knowledge of AASB / IFRS and Australian tax obligations (GST, income tax, FBT) Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to reconciliations and reporting Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a small team Genuine interest in cryptocurrency, digital assets, or fintech Desirable but not essential: Prior experience in financial services, fintech, or a regulated environment Exposure to digital asset or crypto accounting (on-chain reconciliation, token treatment) Advanced Excel or data skills What We Offer A competitive salary A challenging and rewarding role in the dynamic crypto industry A winning, fun, hard-working team Ongoing learning and support Great career development opportunities in a growing company This is an in-office role, so please do not apply if you are looking for a hybrid or remote opportunity.
