KEY SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES

QUALIFICATIONS

  • ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent professional finance qualification preferred.

Responsibilities

ROLE PURPOSE

The Head of Finance will take ownership of the company’s financial health, with a particular focus on invoicing, cost of production analysis, cost control, and stock management. This role will ensure the financial systems and processes are robust, accurate, and aligned with our growth ambitions. The position demands a hands-on leader who can blend strategic oversight with day-to-day operational finance responsibilities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Financial Management & Reporting
    Oversee all financial operations including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and bank reconciliations.
    Prepare timely and accurate monthly management accounts, forecasts, and financial statements.
    Deliver insightful financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
  2. Invoicing & Receivables
    Ensure timely creation, processing, and tracking of all customer invoices.
    Monitor debtor balances, proactively managing credit control to maintain healthy cash flow.
    Streamline invoicing processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  3. Cost of Production & Cost Management
    Analyse and track production costs, including raw materials, labour, and overheads.
    Work closely with Operations and Production teams to identify costsaving opportunities without compromising quality.
    Develop and maintain cost models to ensure accurate product pricing and healthy profit margins.
  4. Stock & Inventory Management
    Oversee stock level reporting and valuation in collaboration with the Operations team.
    Implement systems for efficient stock tracking and management to reduce wastage and overstocking.
    Ensure accurate reconciliation between stock systems and financial records.
  5. Budgeting & Forecasting
    Lead annual budgeting and reforecasting cycles.
    Monitor financial performance against budget and flag variances promptly.
    Provide scenario planning and cash flow forecasting to support business growth.
  6. Compliance & Governance
    Ensure adherence to all financial regulations, tax obligations, and statutory reporting requirements. Maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets.
    Liaise with external auditors, banks, and other financial stakeholders.
