Description
Our client is currently seeking to recruit a fully qualified accountant to join their Senior Management team and co-manage the firm’s Accounts Department. This position requires a highly organised and motivated professional who is ready to take the next step in their career. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of four years’ experience working in a similar environment and will, together with the firm’s other managers, be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients as well as overseeing the accounting team. A strong command of both written and spoken English is essential, while Italian language skills will be considered an asset. Qualifications A graduate from the University of Malta (Honours or Master’s in Accountancy) or holder of an ACCA qualification Warranted accountant authorised to practise in Malta Recognised qualification in Maltese Value Added Tax from an established professional institution in Malta Key Responsibilities Co-managing a team of 4–5 professionals Ensuring compliance with accounting policies and standards Liaising with the firm’s directors, staff, and clients Supervising and reviewing the work of accounting staff on a daily basis Providing VAT advice to clients when required Coordinating with auditors and other departments within the firm Planning and prioritising workloads to meet strict deadlines Skills & Competencies Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Strong attention to detail and accuracy Excellent leadership and staff motivation skills Effective time management and prioritisation abilities Discretion in handling confidential information Capacity to perform under pressure Sound understanding of GAPSME and IFRS In-depth knowledge of Maltese VAT legislation What Our Client Offers Competitive salary and annual performance bonus Opportunities for career progression Flexible and hybrid working arrangements Reduced working hours during the summer period Collaboration with an experienced and dynamic team Attractive remuneration package
