KAN Recruitments Kelowna client is looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Accountant to provide essential accounting support services that drive efficiency and accuracy within the finance team. This is a great opportunity for a results-driven professional with a passion for numbers and a strong interest in the real estate development and construction industry.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education: College diploma or working toward a bachelor’s degree in accounting (minimum two years completed)
  • Experience: At least 2 years of relevant accounting experience
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial best practices
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy

Responsibilities
  • Manage the approval and coding of AP invoices and employee expense reports.
  • Process vendor EFT and cheque payments in a timely manner.
  • Serve as the primary contact for vendor payment inquiries, ensuring clear communication and adherence to company protocols.
  • Maintain vendor records, resolve discrepancies, and update EFT details as needed.
  • Set up and manage customer records within the accounting system.
  • Record incoming payments and respond to billing-related inquiries.
  • Monitor AR aging and follow up on outstanding balances.
  • Assist with journal entries including accruals, prepayments, adjustments, and fixed assets.
  • Reconcile accounts and ensure accurate financial cutoffs.
  • Prepare and file GST returns in accordance with tax regulations and deadlines.
  • Organize and file accounting documents (e.g., invoices and receipts) for easy retrieval.
  • Conduct bank, credit card, and other balance sheet reconciliations to support financial accuracy.
  • Manage intercompany accounts, resolve variances, and prepare related journal entries.
  • Contribute to audit preparation, year-end processes, and other accounting projects.
  • Assist in the creation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Support budgeting efforts and variance analysis.
