REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least 3 or more years of professional (post training) experience as an Accountant.
  • Highly relevant tertiary qualifications.
  • Progress towards, or demonstrated interest in, professional accounting qualifications.
  • Proficient in contemporary accounting systems and the main office software suites.
  • Up-to-date knowledge about Australian taxation law and financial reporting requirements.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Good time management and communication skills.
  • Systematic and critical thinking skills.
Responsibilities

Working with senior members of the organisation,

  • Investigating and preparing financial reports, cash flow forecasts, and aiding in asset management.
  • Investigating and preparation of the monthly management reporting pack by preparing monthly management reports such as freight, travel, marketing, and stock reports.
  • Formulating budgetary and accounting policies.
  • Ensure the continued appropriateness of internal controls, policies and procedures and regulatory compliance.
  • Review and update accounting manual procedures accordingly.
  • Development of systems & resources to streamline and automate processes and procedures of the business.
  • Ensure ongoing accuracy and preparation of the bank reconciliation process.
  • Preparing regulatory returns such as the monthly Business Activity Report, Fringe Benefit Tax return.
  • Overseeing all accounting ledger and reconciliations take place in a systemic and auditable way.
  • Ad hoc or special projects requested by management.
