Job Title: Accountant Location: Primarily works from Administration Office located at 550 Fanshawe Park Rd, London ON N5X 1L1 Schedule: 40 hours/week, Monday to Friday, work schedule between hours of 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM Start Date: As Soon As Possible About the Role We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to support the financial operations of our child care organization. This role is responsible for day-to-day accounting, financial reporting, and monitoring government funding, including subsidies and CWELCC. The Accountant will work closely with the Finance Team, along with Senior Management to ensure accurate reporting, compliance with Ontario regulations, and strong financial controls. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a mission-driven environment and contributing to early learning environments. This is a new position. This position reports to the Director of Finance. About London Bridge London Bridge Child Care Services is a non-profit umbrella organization comprised of 15 licensed child care centres in London, Sarnia and Huron County. We provide loving, individualized care and education for children ages 0-12 years in group care settings. Key Responsibilities • Maintain accurate financial records, including general ledger, reconciliations, journal entries, month-end and year-end processes • Prepare monthly and annual financial statements, including variance reports • Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow monitoring • Manage accounts payable and receivable, including parent fees and subsidy payments • Track and report on government funding (e.g., CWELCC, grants, fee subsidies) • Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, including the Child Care and Early Years Act and CRA requirements • Assist with audits and maintain proper financial documentation • Support internal controls and process improvements • Provide financial support and reporting to leadership and stakeholders • Any other related responsibilities assigned to support team and organization objectives Why Join Us! • Competitive Salary ranging from $65,000 to $75,000, negotiable based on relevant experience • Job Security • Extended Health Care & Dental Benefits • Mandatory Defined Contribution Registered Pension Plan (RPP) – 3% employee contribution and 3% employer match • Paid Time off – vacation and personal time entitlements • Employee Assistance Program (EAP) that supports employee wellness 24/7, 365 days a year • Professional learning opportunities (internal and external) About You You are a reliable and detail-focused accounting professional who takes pride in accuracy and organization. You are comfortable managing multiple priorities and enjoy working in a collaborative environment. You bring: • Solid accounting experience, ideally in a non-profit, child care, or publicly funded setting • Fully cycle accounting knowledge, especially in a child care setting • Strong knowledge of financial reporting, including accounting standards for not-for-profit organizations • Confidence working with spreadsheets and accounting systems • An understanding of government funding and compliance requirements (an asset) • The ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-financial teams • A proactive, problem-solving mindset with strong attention to detail Qualifications • Post Secondary Education in Accounting program required • 15+ years of accounting experience, with some experience in a child care or non-profit setting • Strong understanding of Canada Wide Early Learning and Child Care (CWELCC) funding • Knowledge of Ontario regulations, including the Child Care and Early Years Act, is an asset • Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills • Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders • Experience working in Sage is an asset • Knowledge of Daycare Works beneficiary • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite • Vulnerable Sectors Check • Willingness to travel to or relocate to London required How To Apply: The posting deadline will be Friday April 17, 2026.
