Position Overview The accountant position is responsible for processing Accounts Payable invoices, invoice miscellaneous customers, entering journal entries, maintaining Fixed Assets, and Balance Sheet Reconciliations. This position will also ensure compliance with company policies, State and Federal Laws, Rules, and Regulations. The following list of job general job duties comprises a significant majority of the typical workload: Ensuring vendors invoices are entered into accounting software and paid within vendors terms on timely manner. Assisted in strategic vision of culture of safety as it relates to Monroe Ambulance team members and clients. Act in strict accordance with Monroe Ambulance’s Code of Conduct to ensure a positive and safe environment. Oversee the accounting, accounts payable, and accounts receivable functions. Also, ensuring balance sheet reconciliations are completed in a timely manner. Enter daily banking transactions for operating and payroll bank accounts into accounting software. Record bi-weekly payroll into accounting software. Maintaining Fixed Assets in accounting software and sending information to external accountants. Evaluate the effectiveness of accounting processes and software. Offer recommendations for improvement to leverage data or new tools to support strategic initiatives. Ensures finance department Standards of Operating procedures are updated as needed. Ability to work independently. Complete special projects as assigned in accurately and timely manner. Requirements Associate degree in accounting, Bachelors preferred. 3-5 years of accounting experience. Other Skills/Abilities Strong computer background, focusing on Microsoft Office and Accounting software – especially NetSuite. Prior Purchasing experience helpful.
