OVERVIEW

The North Central Family Centre (NCFC) is seeking a skilled Accountant to manage day-to-day financial operations and ensure accuracy, transparency, and compliance. Working closely with a third-party accounting firm, this role oversees banking, payroll, accounts payable/receivable, grant tracking, and regulatory filings to support the organization’s mission.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in the non-profit sector
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate records using QuickBooks Online
  • Record donations, grants, revenues, and expenses
  • Reconcile bank, credit card, and loan accounts monthly
  • Process payroll, remittances, ROEs, and T4s
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable
  • Prepare deposits and maintain organized records
  • Track grant revenues/expenses and prepare funder reports
  • Submit records for monthly financial statements and monitor budgets
  • Assist with grant proposals and charitable tax receipts
  • File PST returns, PSB rebates, and annual T3010 Charity Return
  • Support yearend audits and ensure compliance with CRA regulations
