Role: Accountant (1 year Fixed Term Contract (FTC) position) Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia About the role: OLIVER is on the lookout for an Accountant based in Malaysia to join an amazing team in an exciting, fast-growing business What you will be doing: As a key member of the Finance team, the Accountant will be responsible for managing and overseeing the Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) functions. This role will also play a critical part in cash flow management, weekly forecasting activities, intercompany reconciliations, and supporting both internal and external audit and tax processes. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and possesses a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices. Accounts Payable (AP): Ensure timely and accurate payment of vendor invoices Manage vendor relationships and resolve invoice discrepancies Maintain accurate AP records and files Ensure compliance with relevant policies and procedures Accounts Receivable (AR): Monitor and follow up on outstanding receivables Apply customer payments accurately Maintain accurate AR records and files Initiate collections activities Ensure compliance with relevant policies and procedures Cash Flow Management: Monitor weekly cash balances Preparing cash flow forecasts Identify and report on cash flow variances Recommend strategies to improve cash flow Forecasting: Participate in weekly forecasting activities Analyze financial data to support forecasting accuracy Assist in the preparation of forecast reports Month-end closing: Performing bank reconciliations Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities, i.e. prepare journal entries as needed Assist in the preparation and analysis of management reports post month-end closing Perform other accounting duties as assigned Intercompany Reconciliation: Perform monthly intercompany account reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of intercompany transactions Investigate and resolve intercompany discrepancies in a timely manner Coordinate with other departments and regional entities to resolve reconciliation issues Prepare and maintain intercompany reconciliation documentation Management Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual management reports, including variance analysis Assist in the preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules Provide insightful commentary and explanations for financial results Assist in the development and improvement of management reporting processes Liaison with external parties (e.g. auditors, bankers, government bodies, tax agents) Assist with internal and external audit requests Prepare schedules and documentation for auditors Assist with statutory, tax and regulatory compliance matters, i.e. tax preparation and filing, e-invoice submission, etc. Other Responsibilities: Assist with ad-hoc financial analysis and projects as needed Ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail Contribute to process improvements within the finance department What you will need to be great in this role: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field At least 3-4 years of financial experience, preferably in multinational corporations Proficiency in accounting software, preferably NetSuite, and Microsoft excel Strong attention to detail and accuracy Ability to work independently and as part of a team Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills Experience with cash flow management and forecasting is a plus Experience supporting audits and tax processes is a plus Req ID: 14774 #LI-DB1 #LI-Hybrid Our values shape everything we do: Be Ambitious to succeed Be Imaginative to push the boundaries of what’s possible Be Inspirational to do groundbreaking work Be always learning and listening to understand Be Results-focused to exceed expectations Be actively pro-inclusive and anti-racist across our community, clients and creations OLIVER, a part of the Brandtech Group, is an equal opportunity employer committed to creating an inclusive working environment where all employees are encouraged to reach their full potential, and individual differences are valued and respected.
