Job Title: Accounting Assistant, Part-time (15 hrs./wk.) Reports to: Parish Business Manager Location: San Pedro Parish | North Port, FL Status: Hourly/Non-exempt     Overview This position serves an Accounting Assistant under the direction of the Pastor, Business Manager and/or Parish Accountant, this position will handle various aspects of recordkeeping and administrative work both financial and non-financial.   Job Responsibilities * Supports the Business Manager/Accountant by entering all approved invoices into Quickbooks. * Manage accounts payable and receivable, including invoice processing and payment. * Reconcile bank statements and other financial data to ensure accuracy. * Accurately maintain financial records and ensure compliance with Diocesan and parish accounting procedures and policies. * Handles all paperwork pertaining to vendors, including general recordkeeping, W9s, 1099s, COI’s, contract addenda etc. * Assist with monthly and quarterly reconciliations. * Assist with DOV compliance for parish events. * Assist with parish event reconciliations. * Assist with the preparation of financial statements and reports. * Contribute to the development and implementation of new financial systems and procedures. * Continually develop and maintain knowledge of accounting and financial best practices and regulations. * Other duties as assigned.       Qualifications * AA or BA in Accounting or Business Administration. * 3-5 years of experience in an office setting preferably within an accounting business. * Demonstrated knowledge of Quickbooks. * Strong computer skills and hands on knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. * Ability to quickly understand various databases. * Outstanding time management and organizational skills. * Excellent communications skills both written and oral. * Understanding of the importance of confidentiality and discretion. * Must pass Diocesan accounting and QuickBooks test. * Ability to clear a FBI Level II background screening.
Responsibilities
The Accounting Assistant will support the Business Manager and Accountant by managing accounts payable and receivable, entering invoices into Quickbooks, and reconciling financial data. Additional responsibilities include maintaining financial records and assisting with compliance and financial reporting.
