QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 5+ years of proven accounting and finance experience.
  • Proficiency in systems such as Excel, QBO, Expensify, Gusto, Bill.com, Google, and Netsuite.
  • Thorough knowledge and real-world application of accounting principles and US GAAP for companies in various industries.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, project management, and communication skills.
  • Experience with SaaS, Technology, Services, and Manufacturing companies is a plus.
  • Self-motivation, integrity, and an ethical mindset.
  • Ability to work in a self-directed manner and prioritize tasks effectively.
Responsibilities

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

The Accountant will play a crucial role in providing oversight and execution of day-to-day accounting and month-end close across multiple clients in various industries. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about finance, eager to solve complex problems, and committed to driving results that make a difference.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Day-to-Day Accounting: The Accountant will lead accounting activities, including preparing and entering journal entries for Billing, A/R, A/P, Inventory, and General Ledger Management. They will ensure financials and trial balances are accurate and complete, supporting month-end and year-end close processes, and conducting monthly reconciliation of cash, credit, and accrual accounts.
  • Month End Close: execute the accurate month-end and year-end close process, including the accurate reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts, including the management of accurate and aligned schedules and supporting documentation for the entries
  • Regulatory Compliance and Reporting: The Accountant will prepare regulatory reporting, both internal and external, and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings. They will also assist the team in documenting business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
  • Client Support and Collaboration: As an individual contributor and part of the team, the Accountant will execute day-to-day accounting and support month-end close, reporting, and analytics. They will build strong relationships with clients, earning their trust through exceptional service delivery and value-added financial guidance.
  • Financial Reporting & Analysis: The Accountant will support the creation and preparation of actionable financial reporting for capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations. They will provide insights and recommendations based on financial data to help clients make informed decisions.
  • Systems and Process Improvement: The Accountant will support the design, selection, build, and implementation of systems and processes to ensure efficient operations. They will identify opportunities to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of accounting processes, implementing best practices and streamlined workflows.
  • Effective Communication and Team Collaboration: The Accountant will engage in regular and clear communication with owners, executives, and other leaders to provide financial insights, answer queries, and address concerns. They will work closely with the client’s team to ensure accurate and consistent financial data, creating a culture of fiscal responsibility infused with creative problem-solving.
