Position Title: Accountant Department: Central Services Reports To: Controller FLSA Status: Salary Location: Denver, CO Position Summary The General Accounting position is responsible for recording, cash management, posting recurring monthly journal entries and assisting with month/year end closing activities. Various balancing activities. The position is also cross trained to support accounts payable and staff accountant duties. What sets us apart: * A family-founded culture that prioritizes people and relationships * A workplace grounded in safety, respect, and accountability * Transparent leadership and clear expectations * Investment in employee development and training * A commitment to doing the right thing for our employees, customers and communities Key Responsibilities * Prepare records of daily cash receipts and disbursements and make bank deposits. * Post recurring journal entries such as payroll, health care and garage allocations. * Book intercompany monthly expenses. * Prepare W-9’s * Work with the Controller and other team members in carrying out the general duties of the Finance/Accounting department. * Back up for Accounts Payable, General Ledger, and DMV. Balancing of G/L accounts. * Records management. * Sales tax support. * All other duties assigned. Qualifications Required * 2 years’ general accounting experience * Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel * Experience with SX Enterprise or other ERP system * Great interpersonal/communication skills * Effective in a team environment Preferred * Small business experience * Construction industry experience * Retail industry experience Physical & Environmental Requirements * Typical office environment * Ability to lift up to 25 pounds, bend, or reach materials as needed during inventory inspections.
