Description

We are looking for an experienced Accountant to join our team on a Contract with potential for a long-term role in Toronto, Ontario. In this position, you will play a critical part in managing financial reporting, budgeting, and tax preparation while supporting multiple entities. This role requires a proactive individual capable of delivering accurate financial insights and effectively communicating results to stakeholders.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and review year-end financial files and ensure timely submission.
  • Maintain monthly trial balances and reconcile accounts to ensure accuracy.
  • Create and present detailed cash flow forecasts and dashboards for executives and board members.
  • Perform variance analysis by comparing budgeted figures to actuals and prepare insightful commentaries.
  • Assist with tax preparation, including estimating tax provisions and supporting installment processes.
  • Organize and consolidate administrative records, ensuring proper file retention and offsite storage when necessary.
  • Act as a liaison between companies and owners, consolidating financial reports and presenting key findings.
  • Process monthly distributions for multiple entities and manage chargeback allocations for shared services.
  • Utilize Caseware to prepare working papers, lead sheets, and supporting documentation for corporate reporting.
  • Extract and analyze data from ERP systems, ensuring alignment with reporting and presentation needs.
  • Proven experience in accounting and financial analysis, with a strong understanding of corporate reporting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software systems such as Caseware, ERP systems, and tools like Dynamics AX.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis and report preparation.
  • Knowledge of tax preparation processes, including estimating tax provisions and T5 preparation.
  • Experience with budgeting, variance analysis, and cash flow forecasting.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage administrative tasks such as file consolidation and record retention.
  • Ability to communicate complex financial information effectively to diverse audiences, including executives and board members.
  • Familiarity with chargeback allocations, payroll, accounts payable, and reconciliations.
