SAIC has an immediate opening for a full-time Accountant. This position supports high visibility customer activities that are critical to national security. In this role you will be responsible for assessing technical accounting requirements for a variety of complex transactions; implementing Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP); recommending and implementing industry best practices; and ensuring appropriate accounting control procedures are maintained for all relevant process areas. In this role responsibilities include: * Perform technical accounting research on transactions of substantial size * Assist in the preparation of periodic financial reporting and executive summaries * Review and analyze new accounting pronouncements and determine impacts * Assist in the drafting of new/updated global accounting policies * Provide analysis and support to external auditors * Perform corporate tax analysis and review of federal state and local tax filings Responsibilities: * Perform technical accounting research on significant and unique transactions and assist in the preparation of accounting memoranda and executive summaries documenting the accounting impact and conclusions * Review and analyze new accounting pronouncements to determine the impact and when applicable, assist with the implementation of new standards * Assist in the drafting of new/updated global accounting policies * Provide analysis and support to external auditors SAIC® [http://www.saic.com/] is a premier mission integrator focused on advancing the power of technology and innovation to serve and protect our world.
